Made by the wonderful people at Peterhof, outside of St. Petersburg - I can't decide whether I find it psychedelic, funny or just cute. ^^

Noch peinlicher: Die Ukraine hatte *denselben* Spot schon vor drei Jahren!!!

*lol* Avatar Plot

http://failblog.org/2010/01/10/avatar-plot-fail/

It's just so true! But: It's still a great movie! I loved it. The plot doesn't need to be original for a film to be shiny and new. ^^ And the soundtrack rules!

Shit...

...there go four hours.

Time well spent, though, considering the lulz-worthyness of all the wonderful things out there I never knew about, like FW. I feel like I just discovered the internet. o_0

It all started out with me shopping for Christmas presents. I bought a book by Cassandra Clare, decided to check whether she's actually the same as Cassie Claire; this led me here.

The comments on plagiarizm intrigued me , so I went on to this page, which in turn led to this page, leading me here (I had no idea!) - with a detour here; something reminded me I hadn't laughed about this in some...days. :P

I went on to read about this and finally this complete with these hilarious comments.

The internet is a crazy place.

No really, it is.

Ich habe viel zu lange nix gepostet... und das hier ist auch kein richtiger Post... Ich bin nur eben im Tagesschau-Newsletter über was, hm, Nettes gestolpert:

http://www.tagesschau.de/schlusslicht/loselose100.html

Tesla is drawing a doujinshi for one of my fics (Rabentod, I'm working on translating it), and she finally uploaded the first few pages! I can't wait to read more!!!  *dances*   Never thought someone would enjoy my stuff so much that they want to draw it.  *feeling extremely pleased, impressed and giddy*
Here's a link, go have a look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*yawn*

Huh, I haven't been here in a loong time. I generally just use LJ to read, not write...
But somehow seeing that the last thing I posted here is my grandma's death - that's just wrong. So much has been happening: getting my BA, moving abroad, writing even stranger fanfiction... So I thought I should just dedicate a short entry to the mess that is my life. It's a brilliant mess and though it sometimes vexes me, I generally enjoy it a lot.
And I'm sure whoever is reading this right now is asking him-/her-/itself: Why am I reading this???
So I'll spare you trying to find an answer and just stop.

Ever seen four people playing Bolero - on ONE Cello?!  And fighting a duel at the same time? :D
Look at this:

or try here:   (a warning, though: on youtube, I didn't find even one version that had the first few seconds working - so don't worry, it's not your sound system failing  ;D . Sound starts after a couple seconds)

Or maybe a 'History of Music' with absolutely smooth transitions between Peer Gynt and James Bond? Pretty Woman and Yesterday?

DH H/D

A worthy cause

Hi everyone!

This sounds like a really, really cool idea to me:

http://www.firstgiving.com/hp7

Translating DH into Braille. I really think everyone should be given a chance to read the book, and the issue should not be that no-one is financing the translation into their writing system. That's a dumb reason. I actually don't know whether they made it (publishing the book on the same day as the 'usual' version, that is), but in either case, I still think it makes sense to support the effort. So go and donate some money, or at least spread word of it. : )

AYLNO

This. Is. INCREDIBLE!!!
I don't care that I'm a slasher. I don't care that I have no time. I don't care that it's not the original.
This fic really got to me.

'A Year Like None Other' by Aspen in the Sunlight.

It's a Severitus novel-lengh fic, features an amazing Draco Malfoy and does a superbe job of keeping everyone in character. Also, it...it...  oh, I can't do it justice right now! *stunned* - if you want details, go here:
 http://aylno.dreamingillusions.net/summary.html

I very, very very much urge everyone to read it! You find it here (among other places, I suppose...):
 http://archive.skyehawke.com/authors.php?no=781

The artwork ( http://aylno.dreamingillusions.net/ ), videos, e-books etc. pp. and even fanfics about this fanfic... the mere amount is overwhelming. But I completely understand it. The fic deserves no less.

I'm happy.

DH H/D

An HP experience of the (un?)usual kind...

Friday, 20. 07.07,   8:30 p.m. :
Kitty, Poet and me take our bikes on a tour uphill to the end-of-semester party at our esteemed professor's house. Fun stuff. Many of our co-students, some teaching staff and a few people I can't really place anywhere; lots of food; and a bit of nice music.
For some reason, the debate of the evening at our table (outside; frequented by light rain and heavy desserts) always circles back onto the topic 'Harry Potter', and- not so surprising, considering both me and Poet are present - to Slash and to the Deathly Hallows. Even the search&replace joke about every occurrence of 'wand' in the earlier books is brought up. It still gets a few laughs, surprisingly enough.
I'm excited. I'm wearing a green ribbon in my hair, my Slytherin earrings (heirloom of Lily Evans) that poet made for me after the model described in Loons Gerringer's 'Die Goldene Festung' (brilliant fanfic!!!), and a silver dragon dangles from the necklace around my throat.
I'm prepared. Whether for good or ill, I'll be showing some Slytherin house spirit! May Rowling have Snape and Draco redeem themselves or bury them in everlasting fires of hell, I'll support them regardless. I believe in those Slys!

Oops, that became a bit longer than I expected... So, the first cut right here will be the NON-SPOILER part of my tale:

Now, for some SPOILER material:  Quotes, thoughts and fic recs!

I am still wearing Slytherin green. And white owl earrings... *sigh*

I don't know how exactly I came from statistics over to.... this... but- this is so hilarious!!!

On this site, there's an interview with Dan Radcliffe on Jonathan Ross's Show. He talks about Equus, OOTP, about beards and women and why he is not likely to ever be very tall... It's funny, and a mite cute, as well... *slaps self viciously for displaying teenage hormones at long last* - a bit late for that, right?  *grmbl*

But he IS handsome... *purr*

Go have a look...

Don't see how I will survive statistics and arabic tomorrow. Ah well, at least now I know all about the difference between women and horses, that will sure help me with the horse race example *laughs slightly hysterically*

OOTP movie

Just went to see the new HP movie, and I must say I like the new director and I positively adore the new composer. The score is brilliant!

And... can anyone recommend any good Harry/Seamus fics? Please?
I think my knuckles suffered terribly tonight, I was biting them so hard in order not to laugh or giggle the whole time. The subtext was so f***ing hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Seamus:
"Harry, there is something I have to tell you..."   Sure you do.  *rofl*  "I believe you." That wasn't it, though. XD

I didn't much care for the Dumbledore/Harry Romeo&Juliet pic (yuck!)... But Umbitch was positively E.V.I.L. ! Great!!! And Dudley's little scene was pretty cool, too, or so I thought.

Uh... what can I do to get the evil ideas out of my head that I got from seeing Snape in his 'torture chamber' during occlumency lessons ? That was pretty bad, really... And, oh, this Lucius...!  *sighs happily* Sooooooooo evil!  *g*      Some pics from this movie were really a bit 1984.... or maybe that's just my hyper imagination. ; )

Too bad Draco hardly showed up - he sure has grown to be rather handsome. *g*  Though Daniel is pretty cool, too. I hated the short hair when I first saw the preview, but it doesn't distract as much as I thought. He might be too old to be the pubescent, I-shout-at-everyone-and-everything 15y old Harry, but he still came across as Harry, and managed to look good at the same time, so all is well in my little world... *g*

Ah, gotta post to search group now. I really, really need some Harry/Seamus sometime soon... Never read that pairing before...    *runs off to post search*

July 25th: I've seen the movie in English last night, and I have to correct my earlier assessment of the situation: It's only funny in the German translation. That certain moment doesn't really happen in English, different choice of words. Too bad... ;D
Also, having read DH by now, I feel the need to point out they really did a great job with that Hog's Head scene! *ggg*

This time last year: Getting up at six to study for an hour or two before it became too freakin' hot to think straight .. uh, bad choice of words... well, to think, period.
This year: three layers of clothing, nursing a cup of steaming hot tee and singing songs about autumn as the leaves fly by on a cold wind...

You know, sometimes global warming really, really sucks.

Hey there! ; )

Riiiight... I guess now that I'm here I might as well drop a line or three.

I actually never intended to become an active member of the LJ community, but seeing how so much of the interesting stuff is friends-locked and whatnot, it eventually seemed to make sense, so here I am. *smirk*

Yeah. One warning.

For anyone who knows me from elsewhere: This shall be my SANDBOX where I drop off the otherwise not-worthy-of-being-posted or else somehow misshapen fics and drabbles. Quite likely, any incomplete fic that appears here will never be completed. Sorry about that, but hey: don't like, don't read.

You have been warned. ; )
